Under a fortnight ago the Chamber hosted the Africa Opportunity Breakfast in Ottawa, where our keynote speaker Mukani Moyo (McKinsey) joined us via livestream. A few days prior, hundreds attended our sold-out 21st Annual African Mining Breakfast, with many also joining via webinar.
Fast forward and a lot has changed.
As part of our services to our members, the Chamber is ramping up its online presence and capacity.
In line with social distancing measures in place, we have not held any in-person meetings since our lasts engagement in Ottawa and Toronto earlier this month. We are as available as ever online or by phone.
Thanks to the support of Diamond Member 6ix we are focusing on interactive webinars connecting African markets and Canada at this time; in addition to live and recorded podcasts and news stories relevant to Canada-Africa affairs.
Please be assured that as your Chamber we are doing everything in our power to support you, our members. If you have news or updates on how you are responding to COVID-19 that you would like shared, please email me directly: email@example.com. With so many unknowns, the power of our Canada-Africa community in collaborating and sharing infomation is as vital as ever.
As we ramp up these efforts, a warm welcome to Mr Toye Abioye, our social media officer who began today. Read more about his background here.
Finally, please take a moment to check out our new one-minute Chamber video produced by Jeff Silverstein and his fantastic team at Radius Communications. A second video will be released soon featuring more icons in the Canada-Africa business world, including Ivanplats Executive Chairperson Patricia Makhesha.
