Canada-Morocco Business Networking Luncheon

We were delighted to meet the Morocco-Canada Business Council, hosted at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco, our newest Chamber member. The working luncheon followed a formal signing ceremony on Wednesday 23 November, underscoring anticipated collaboration between the Morocco-Canada Business Council.

''I would like to commend the leadership of HE Souriya Otmani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Canada,'' said Garreth Bloor, the Chamber President. ''The opportunities ahead are enormous and the tangible realization has already begun, grounded in the clear outcomes acheived today as a result of the work done by many in recent months,'' he added.

According to Global Affairs Canada, ''in 2021, Morocco was Canada's 4th largest bilateral merchandise trading partner in Africa. Canada's commercial activities in Morocco are diversified and focus not only on the export of goods and mining assets, but also on the establishment of franchises, numerous partnerships with educational institutions, and other activities within global value chains''.

''Morocco presents business opportunities of interest to Canada in education, agri-food, mining, aerospace, automotive, defense, information technology and green technology. In 2021, our bilateral merchandise trade with Morocco reached over $1.14 billion, an increase of 14.1% from 2020.''
