Claude Gendron is the deputy director responsible for commercial relations at the Southern and Eastern Africa Relations Division at Global Affairs Canada. Claude is responsible for assisting Canadian companies doing business in 25 markets in Southern and Eastern Africa. Throughout his career at Global Affairs Canada, Claude occupied several positions across various streams in the department including aerospace and international security.
Prior to joining Global Affairs in 2008, Claude occupied various positions at Health Canada in Ottawa, Canadian Heritage in Montreal, and the United Nations Development Programme in Cameroon. Claude holds an undergraduate degree in economics and political science from the University of Montreal, a post-graduate diploma in management and a masters in international management from HEC Montreal, and a Masters in management from Harvard University.
Claude completed executive training in business administration and management at the MIT Sloan School of Management and Yale School of Management, and is a professional accredited in international trade from the Forum of International Trade Training.
