1. 18th Annual Indaba Evening - October 31, 2019 - evening
This is the premier African business networking event on the Canadian calendar featuring a who’s who of senior business executives and government officials active, or interested, in Africa. Our 2019 keynote speaker was Dr. Patricia Makhesha, Executive Chairperson, Ivanplats and Executive Vice President for Sustainability, Ivanhoe Mines. The evening kicked off with a networking cocktail reception, African food, South African wine, and a lively performance by Juno award-winning singer Lorraine Klaasen that set the tone for a wonderful evening.

This afternoon seminar covered the reality of doing business in Africa in 2019 including presentations and panel discussions on the opportunities from EY's September 2019 Africa Report, Canada’s “secret weapon” in Africa, Africa’s diversity advantage, and opportunities for Canadians arising from The Chamber’s inaugural business conference held in Africa in March 2019.

This seminar with Global Affairs Canada and Power Africa focussed on infrastructure opportunities arising from The Chamber’s inaugural business conference held in Africa in March 2019, municipal infrastructure and smart cities and alternative energy opportunities for Canadians in Africa.

5. Natural Resource Development: The Success Template for Canadian Firms - October 31, 2019
Canadian mining companies have been the greatest success stories in the socio-economic development of Africa. This afternoon seminar profiled these companies, what made them successful in Africa and what lessons can be learned for other Canadian companies in other sectors, particularly agriculture and agro-processing and the financing of mining and agro projects in Africa.
