MICE Visa Guidelines (Download the Official PDF version)
1. Eligibility Clarification
- Delegates from countries that are not visa-exempt, including Canada, must apply for the MICE Visa regardless of whether they are attending as participants or in any other capacity.
- Delegates from visa-exempt countries who are attending the event solely as participants are not required to apply for the MICE Visa.
- However, passport holders from visa-exempt countries, such as South Africa, who will attend the event as presenters, facilitators, organisers, or media are required to be in possession of a visa. These roles are considered work-related functions, and therefore, the individuals must comply with the MICE Visa requirements.
2. Steps for Delegates
- Step 1: The delegate receives the event code from the Canada-Africa Chamber of Business.
- Step 2: The delegate registers on the e-visa portal, completes and submits the MICE Visa application using the event code provided.
- Step 3: The delegate awaits approval. Approval for participants is an automatic process. Approval for presenters, organisers or media may take up to five working days.
- Step 4: Once the application has been approved, the delegate logs in to the portal to make payment. After payment has been processed, the visa will be issued, which must be printed and carried upon arrival.
3. Visa Validity
The MICE Visa covers the official days of the conference and includes an additional week prior to the event start date and one week after the event’s closing date.
