16 offshore blocks open for concession
The Institute of National Petroleum (INP), on behalf of the Government of Mozambique, is pleased to announce the commencement of the 6th License Round schedule for newly defined blocks in the waters offshore Mozambique and, is inviting all interested parties to participate in the process of awarding up to 16 new exploration areas, in 4 distinct regions totaling over 92,000 sq. km. The Round will be an open competitive tender, with applications evaluated on a set of standard criteria. These criteria are available on the INP 6th License Round website www.inp.gov.mz
There are 16 new blocks identified for the purpose. Five of these blocks are located in the offshore Rovuma Basin; seven in Angoche; two in the Zambezi Delta; and two in Save.
These prolific basins, expect to hold a vast quality of gas and oil resources to be developed.
Pre-Qualifying |
25th November – 28th February 2022 |
Companies are invited to register, if interested in attending the Licensing Round. Registered companies will have to pre-qualify for participation in the Licensing Round. Only companies pre-qualified by INP will be able to participate in the Licensing Round. Companies will be informed after closure of pre-qualifying whether they have been successful. Note that the registration is through the website provided. |

Open Licensing Round |
25th November 2021 – 31st August 2022 |
The License Round will run for a continuous period of 10 months. During this period INP will operate an online data room. |

All submissions after this date will be excluded from evaluation. |
