Tichaona E. Mushayandebvu, referred to as “TICH”, is a holder of MSc Economics and several international tertiary diplomas and certificates in economic development, private sector enterprise & financial sector development, Green Industry and Circular Economy.
His mandate is to promote UNIDO’s Inclusive & Sustainable Industrial Development and SDG 9 agenda and their implementation in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF 2022 -2026). He provides Technical Assistance (TA), “Industrial Policy” Advice (IPA) and Capacity Building (CB) support to Zimbabwe’s industrialization agenda in the context of NDS1 2021 – 2025, in particular its national priority of “Moving the Economy up the Value Chain & Structural Transformation”, the Economic Growth & Stability and related economic related pillars.
UNIDO’s value addition to NDS 1 “Industrial Policy” agenda is derived from Programs and Projects developed or initiated under the Zimbabwe – UNIDO Country Program for Inclusive & Sustainable Industrial Development (CP 4 ISID) 2016 – 2021 whose objectives were to create Manufactured Value Added (MVA) Jobs, enhancing MVA Export revenues and attract Domestic & FDIs in support of Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization.
Mr Mushayandebvu is a member of the UNCT Zimbabwe since 2018. His professional working career in the field of economic development span over 33 years with Government of Zimbabwe from 1991 to 1996, with USAID from 1996 to 2005 and with UNIDO since 2006.
