Invitation from the High Commission of Zambia to the Zambia Mining and Investment INSAKA in October 2024, taking place in Lusaka
On behalf of the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Development in Zambie, we are pleased to invite you to the Zambia Mining and Investment INSAKA 2024, which will take place at the Mulungushi International Conference Center in Lusaka, Zambia, from October 7th to 11th, 2024. The INSAKA, themed "Mining Copper and Beyond - Celebrating 100 Years of Mining in Zambia," is expected to attract around 2500 local and international delegates with a strong interest in Zambia's mining industry.
Zambia has a long mining history, dating back to the 1920s, and is well- known for its copper and emerald production. As a country, we want to use our vast mineral resources for economic growth, with copper remaining a top priority. However, we are prioritizing diversification into other minerals such as gold, manganese, and lithium in response to emerging global and regional manufacturing trends.
With the introduction of electric vehicles (EVs), Zambia has the potential to become a major supplier of batteries, battery precursors, and critical minerals required for EV manufacturing. The country's reserves of copper, nickel, manganese, lithium, and graphite make it a potential powerhouse in supplying the materials required for EV production. By capitalizing on this mineral wealth and embracing diversification, Zambia has the opportunity to cement its role as a significant player in the global mining industry, particularly in the rapidly growing EV supply chain.
The INSAKA aims to foster discussions to address the challenges affecting the mining sector, promote transparency, and attract significant investments.
The Zambia Mining and Investment INSAKA 2024 presents a unique opportunity for:
- Engaging with Key Stakeholders: Network with industry leaders, government officials, and potential investors.
- Exploring Investment Opportunities: Discover Zambia's untapped mineral wealth and explore investment prospects in brownfield and greenfield projects.
- Shaping the Future of Mining: Participate in discussions to overcome challenges and propel Zambia's mining sector towards a sustainable and diversified future.
