We are honoured to have held the 60th Independence Celebrations of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, hosted by His Excellency Mr. Adeyinka Asekun High Commissioner of Nigeria to Canada and officials of the Nigeria High Commission.
The Canada-Africa Chamber of Business is proud to have joined Nigeria on this esteemed occasion which was broadcast live from the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa on 1 October 2020.
Speakers included His Excellency Mr. Adeyinka Asekun; M.P. Rob Oliphant, Parliamentary Secretary to the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs; Barrister Kelechi Madu, Minister of Justice and Soliciter General of Alberta; Chamber Chair, Mr. Sebastian Spio-Garbrah and Masai Ujiri, President of the Toronto Raptors.
The evening was a celebration of commercial ties amidst music, messages from across Canada to the Nigerian people and a grand official cutting of the 60th Anniversary Birthday Cake.
Nigeria is a major economy of over 200 million people and millions more worldwide who united to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Warm greetings from the Chair of the Board, Mr. Sebastian Spio-Garbrah (left), were delivered to His Excellency Adeyinka Asekun (right) this month in Ottawa in the lead up to the celebrations.
The Nigerian High Commissioner has been a welcomed VIP guest at Chamber events in Toronto and Ottawa. The High Commission is also member of The Canada-Africa Chamber of Business.
