March 27 | Toronto | 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (ET)
Members and guests of the Canada-Africa Chamber of Business were invited to join an in-person roundtable discussion with Cheryl Urban, Assistant Deputy Minister for Africa at Global Affairs Canada.
This interactive session explored Canada’s evolving economic engagement with African markets and the implementation of the Government of Canada’s Africa Strategy. Participants had the opportunity to share perspectives from the private sector on emerging opportunities, challenges, and priorities for strengthening Canada–Africa commercial partnerships.
The Chamber remains committed to playing its role through market-driven solutions, supported by world-class networking and information-sharing events. Across our programs on the African continent and in Canada, we have heard consistently that opening markets through regional trade frameworks — including the African Continental Free Trade Area — and encouraging private investment in infrastructure, energy, logistics, agriculture, mining, and digital services *to name but a few sectors) are essential to advancing economic development. These opportunities are best realized through strong private-sector partnerships, supported by an enabling environment for enterprise.
The forum was followed by a networking lunch for members and board members of the Chamber.
