The 2nd edition of the DRC Chamber of Mines’ Women's Day focused on the contribution of women in the mining sector. Previously titled the Information Day of Women in the Mining Sector, this one-day event of the Chamber of Mines of the Federation of Enterprises of Congo ( FEC ) took place on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Fleuve Congo Hotel in Kinshasa.
This meeting, which is an information and exchange session with women leaders who are already working in the mining sector, seeks to inspire vocations to the sector among women. Women in the mining sector are underepresented in what is the 'engine of the DRC economy'.
Organized by the Chamber of Mines which is the structure of the Federation of Enterprises of the Congo (FEC), the program welcomed high level officials in the mining sector of the DRC. Incuding but not limited to Albert Yuma, President of FEC, Louis Watum, President of the Chamber of Mines, Women of the FEC, Marna Cloete, President of Kamoa Cooper and General Manager of the ARSP, Miguel Katemb Kashal. The event was organized by the coordinator of the Chamber of Mines of DRC, Bernadette Mpundu.
