Lúcia Sebastião António
Head of the Section of Industry in the Institute of Nuts of Mozambique
Lúcia is an agronomist and holds a Master degree in Global Food and Agribusiness from Adelaide University in Australia. Working as senior Technician at IAM,IP, formerly INCAJU for almost 15 years, she acquired practical experience in cashew value chain. From 2004 to 2006 she worked as Delegate of INCAJU in Zambézia Province where she was in charge of developing programs, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, coordinating activities with NGO’s and private sector.
Since 2007, she working at National Headquarters where was involved in developing the Cashew Fair Program, Pilot Auction of RCN, Intensification on Production and Distribution of Cashew Seedlings Program. Her duties also include design program programs on cashew value chain, monitoring and evaluation of the cashew activities, providing technical skills for the smallholders and promoting the use of cashew by-products. Recently she was appointed as the head of Nut Industry where she is responsible on elaborate projects, Monitoring and evaluate the performance of the cashew value chain, advice on investment in cashew industry, monitoring the trade at national and international market.
