Ismenio Chitata holds a Bachelor Degree in Agriculture and Natural Resources Management and a Master’s Degree in Business Leadership.
Isménio background is in Agriculture Development and Investment Sector for 25 years in Mozambique where he has worked on various areas such as Agriculture value chain analysis and investments, Project Management and implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation and impact assessment both with Private Sector and Donor Funding such as IFAD, USAID and The World Bank.
Currently is the Coordinator for SUSTENTA, a program with the aim to integrate smallholder famers into de value chains through investment in Lead farmers. Value chains are Sesame, Pigeon Peas, beans, maize in the north of Mozambique and Horticultural crops in the south.
Before joining SUSTENTA from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, He worked in the Seed Sector for 6 years as the General Manager for PANNAR Mozambique a South African Seed Company, later changed into the name of CORTEVA.
Isménio is a founding member of APROSE- A National Association for the Seed Promotion where he held the Position of the President of the Association.
