As the annual Investing in African Mining Indaba concluded yesterday in South Africa, the Chamber has been pleased to welcome new members at events in a number of cities in recent weeks.
During our most recent engagements in Toronto, Ottawa, Cape Town and Johannesburg - over the past few weeks - we welcomed new corporate members from the Canada and African markets.
Joining our growing team, we are delighted to also welcome Ateau Zola (who joined us on the continent this week) and Kweku Essien, a key participant in our recent Toronto Roundtable with the leadership of Global Affairs Canada.

Addressing the High Commissioner’s Reception on the eve of the Mining Indaba on Sunday February 5th, Chamber President Garreth Bloor invited delegates to join to the largest African mining event in North America next month. ''For 24 years, Wayne Floreani as co-founder and current President of MineAfrica Inc. and long-time Chamber board member has led this initiative as a major supporter of The Canada-Africa Chamber of Business.''

Members' Roundtable in Toronto with the Global Affairs Canada Leadership
We were honoured to welcome Antoine Chevrier (Assistant Deputy Minister) and Susan Steffen (Director General) for a chance to discuss Canada-Africa trade and investment with our members in downtown Toronto, on 24 January 2023.
Members were invited to share perspectives, insights and opinions based on their experiences, in the context continuing discussions on Global Affairs Canada’s strategic framework for engaging with Africa, as deliberated upon during the Ministerial panel at Africa Accelerating 2022. Read More

The Canada-Africa Chamber meets Nigeria’s Bank of Industry leadership in Ottawa
Last month we were privileged to meet the Bank of Industry, during a visit of the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mr. Olukayode Pitan. Following opening remarks by His Excellency, High Commissioner Adeyinka Asekun, the discussion at the Chamber’s Ottawa office focused on the role of the bank and the opportunities for collaboration. The meeting welcomed members of the Bank’s leadership.
‘’These engagements reflect the vital role of Nigeria as a continental leader, underpinned by its major private sector-led institutions,’’ said Garreth Bloor. ‘’The Bank of Industry has financed over 6000 businesses across Nigeria, of all sizes, serving as the country's foremost Development Finance Institution.

The Canada-Africa Chamber of Business 24th Annual African Mining Breakfast & MineAfrica's 21st Annual Investing in African Mining Seminar African mining event in North America provides you with an unparalleled opportunity to promote your country, company, African project, product or services to a senior-level, African-focused audience.

The sell-out breakfast/seminar takes place on Tuesday March 7 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel and features an opening address by an African Mining Minister and a keynote address by a senior mining company CEO active in Africa. This is followed by a networking refreshment break, and then concurrent country or regional spotlights and topically themed seminar rooms.
Our 2022 event featured 55 presenters and attracted 485 participants, all with an interest in mining investment in Africa!
